Transportation
Applications for metro cards and school bus service are made after the registration process has been completed. Applications for transportation are then forwarded to the Department of Transportation at the Board of Education.
The transportation regulations contained below provide NYC students with pupil transportation to and from school by contracted bus or common carrier service according to grade, distance, and program. The mode of transportation (yellow school bus or Metro Card) is determined by the Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT).
Students who use school transportation must follow NYS transportation regulations. Certainly, students must behave properly and avoid any type of unnecessary interaction, either with their peers or with others.

Discipline
Discipline policies are designed to create an environment where learning and development of the child’s Islamic character is possible. All of our policies require the involvement of the parents or guardians of the child. Al Madrasa Al Islamiya encourages the teachers to establish relationships with the parents or guardians of each child in all their classes.
If there is a problem requiring a child to be sent to the dean, then either a phone conference or a face-to-face meeting is convened to address the issue of concern. Problems of a more serious nature are managed through a type of council of administrators where shuraa is applied to achieve the best outcome for the school and the child. The primary objective of Al Madrasa Al Islamiya is to develop Islamic character. Discipline is a collaborative effort.
